Part 1: iOS System Recovery- Getting through Recovery Mode

Step 1: Launched FoneDog and Choose option

Once you have launched or run FoneDog, in its toolkit interface go to “More tools” and choose “iOS System Recovery” option to begin with. Once you are in the iOS System Recovery, connect your iDevice to your computer using the USB cable.
Note that FoneDog should detect your device automatically.
Once your device has been detected, click on the “Start” button.


Step 2: Confirm to Download Firmware.

Download firmware. In order for the FoneDog to fix the abnormalities in your operating system you will be asked to download the firmware, and it is a must. FoneDog will provide the latest iOS version to download.
All you have to do is click the “download” button and wait for it to finish downloading.

Step 3: Repairing automatically.

Once the download is completed, FoneDog will automatically start repairing your iOS. You are not allowed to use your device during this step; if you do your device might be at risk of becoming bricked.

Step 4: Wait for the Process Completed.

Repairing may take some minutes. Once the repair is completed, FoneDog will notify you, you can’t unplug your device just like that. Wait for your device to reboot first until then you can remove or unplug your device.

Part 2: iOS System Recovery- Fixing “Connect to iTunes” Issue


If you see the Connect to iTunes screen, nope, your device’s life doesn’t end in here, restart your device:

Step 1: Launch FoneDog and Connect Your Device

       Launch FoneDog, connect your device and wait for the FoneDog to recognize it.

Step 2: Download the Firmware.

       Once recognized, download the firmware presented by the software

Step 3: Wait for the Process Completed.

       Wait for the download to be completed, once it is done, FoneDog will immediately start repairing your phone. Just wait until it was finished.

Quick Tip: For those who have an iPhone 6s and earlier, iPad, or iPod touch press and hold both the Sleep and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo. On an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, press and hold both the Sleep and Volume Down buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

Part 3: iOS System Recovery- White Screen Issue

Step1: Common Solution

You can’t get easy once you have encountered this one. If you see a solid color screen (black, white, or blue) - here’s what you need to do according to Apple.
  • Plug in your device to a power source.
  • If you see the low battery screen when you plug in, let your device charge for at least 10 minutes (20 minutes for iPad) before using it.
  • Force restarts your device while it's plugged in.

Step 2: Download and Launch FoneDog

Download and launch FoneDog then, connect your device.

Step 3: Choose Option and Start

Go to iOS System Recovery and click the start button.


Step 4: Download the Required Firmware

To begin repairing, you need to download the required firmware for your device.

Step 5: FoneDog Starts Repairing Automatically. 

Wait for the download to be completed and repairing will start automatically. FoneDog will notify you once repairing are completed.

Part 4: Putting your device in DFU Mode to Fix iTunes Error

Step 1: Connect Your Device to Your Computer.

Connect your device to your computer. Then launch the iTunes on your computer where your device is connected.

Step 2: Turn off Your iPhone

  1. Press the sleep or wake button for about few seconds until the “Slide to power off” appear on your device’s screen.
  2. Slide the switch to turn off the iPhone.
  3. Wait until the white spinning icon disappears; power-off is now complete.

Step 3: Getting into DFU in 3 Easy Steps

After activating DFU mode, press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep or Wake button, you need to keep them held for 10 seconds. This step is very important, right timing is needed. When 10 seconds have passed, let go of the Sleep or Wake button, but keep the Home button pressed. Once it was successfully done, an alert will appear on your computer saying: "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." The screen of the iPhone should remain turned off. In the case that Apple logo appears, you've been holding down the two buttons for too long. Start the process again by clicking the “ok” button.

Step 4: Launch FoneDog Toolkit and Select Option.

After launching FoneDog, go to system recovery.

Step 5: Connect Your Device to Your Computer

 Connect your device using a USB cable and wait for the FoneDog to detect your device automatically.

Step 6: Click "start" and Confirm Download Firmware

If your device has been recognized, click on the start button. Once you click the start button, FoneDog will present to you the firmware that needs to be downloaded, you need to download it.

Step 7: Wait for FoneDog Repairing Your Device

Downloading may take some minutes, but once it is completed FoneDog will start repairing your device and you have nothing to worry about.

Part 5: Unfreezing your iDevice

Step 1: Launch FoneDog and Select Option

As you launch or run FoneDog, choose the “System Recovery” to start.
As you were done, connect your device to your computer via USB cable.
The software will automatically recognize your device once you have it connected.
If your device has been recognized, click on the “start” button as the picture show follows.


Step 2: Download the Necessary Firmware 

As FoneDog tries to fix your device, the latest firmware should be downloaded to your device to recover it from the operating system failure. FoneDog will check for your device model and you have to confirm it, then it will present to you the firmware that needs to be downloaded. You just need to click on the “Download” button to get started.


Step 3: Wait for the Process to Be Finished

Once the download is completed, the software will start repairing your device. Preparation to returning to normal function may take around ten minutes. You cannot use your device until the process is completed. FoneDog will notify you once the preparation is completed. Once it is completed you can unplug your device and check if it works properly. If not, there may be some serious issues and you need to contact your supplier.

Sometimes, all you need to is to hold the Home Button (on the front of the iPhone) and the Sleep/Wake button (on the top of the iPhone) together at the same time. Keep them pressed at the same time for like 10-20 seconds and the phone should reboot.

       For that device that freezes frequently, troubleshoot your device by:

  1. Connecting your device to your computer,
  2. Open iTunes and select your device.
  3. Back up your phone and restore.
  4. And wait for the process to be finished.
