2. How to Transfer Photos from Samsung to PC with USB Cable

Perhaps the simplest means of transferring files is through a USB cable. This is the most traditional method when the use of SD cards, Bluetooth, FTP, or Cloud servers were still not as prevalent as today.

With that said, you can expect that it would be very easy since it is used by the majority of users. The only thing you need for this is a USB cable compatible to your Samsung device. Here’s how how to transfer photos from Samsung to PC with a USB cable:

  1. Connect your Samsung device to the computer using a USB cable.

Note: Sometimes, it won’t be recognized by the computer at first. In that case, you have to go to your Settings > Applications > Development, then turn on USB debugging. You may not be able to find Development if you haven’t activated it by tapping on About phone a couple of times.

  1. Once your device is recognized, press on Allowat the pop up message that appears on your phone. This will show up only if it’s the first time you connect the device to the PC.
  2. On your PC, open a session of Windows Explorer.
  3. Now head to This PC.
  4. Under the Devices and drivesor Removable disks, select the drive that represents your Samsung device and press Enter.
  5. Proceed to locate the photos on your phone which is usually in the DCIM or Camera folder. Then, select the files that you want to copy and press Ctrl + C on the keyboard.
  6. Finally, head to the folder where you want to transfer those photos. Once you’re on the designated folder, press Ctrl + Von your keyboard to transfer the photos.

The best thing about this method of how to transfer photos from Samsung to PC is that you can make use of any USB cables as long as it is compatible. This is very convenient since cables are very cheap nowadays. Of course, there’s another method that follows the same concept as this. How to Transfer Photos from Samsung to PC with USB Cable

3. How to Transfer Photos from Samsung to PC with External SD Card

The previous section featured the use of USB cables. This time, we will be talking about using a card reader on how to transfer photos from Samsung to PC.

A card reader is similar to USB cables since it connects devices to the PC, but it’s a bit different. Instead of connecting a smartphone to the PC, card readers allow the connection of SD cards to the PC, which is convenient for people who mainly use SD cards for storage.

Thus, there are two condition that you will need to fulfill for this to work for you. One is that you have an SD card and you use it for storing your photos. The second condition is that you have a card reader, which is a bit more expensive than USB cables.

Either way, once you’ve fulfilled these prerequisites, it will be much simpler since as we’ve said, it follows the same concept as when we used cables.

You only have to eject your SD card from the Samsung device, then insert it on the card reader. Now on your PC, there should be a USB port where you can plug in the card reader. The only thing you have to do by then would be what you did before, locate the files you want to transfer then copy it on the designated folder in your PC.

4. How to Transfer Photos from Samsung to PC with Bluetooth

Using Bluetooth as a method on how to transfer photos from Samsung to PC is a bit different than the previous two that we’ve discussed. Bluetooth requires that you set up a connection between your Samsung device and the PC.

Fortunately, Samsung devices as well as most operating systems support Bluetooth. This time, you only need one tool for this, and that would be a Bluetooth device.

On the other hand, it is much more difficult to use this method than what we’ve discussed so far. So make sure to be extra careful when you follow these instructions:

  1. On your Samsung device, swipe down to see the Control Center.
  2. On the resulting menu, tap on the option for Bluetooth.
  3. Now on your PC, launch the Action Center panel by pressing Win key + Aon your keyboard.
  4. On the panel, turn on the toggle for Bluetooth.
  5. Now head to your Start menu then press the option for Bluetooth.
  6. There will be a list of devices with their Bluetooth enabled. Select the one for your Samsung device then tap on Pair.
  7. Enter the password on both devices if prompted.
  8. This time, on your Samsung device, proceed to where your photos are. Select those photos then tap on Share.
  9. From the list of options, select Bluetooth.

This will automatically send the files through the Bluetooth connection. The disadvantage of this is that if your operating system does not support Bluetooth, then you’d be better off using different methods.

5. How to Transfer Photos from Samsung to PC with WiFi / FTP

Another similar method that follows the concept with Bluetooth features the use of WiFi or FTP or File Transfer Protocol.

It is a very simple method of transferring files, though it makes use of the connection between two servers. This server is accessible to most devices including Samsung devices and most PC operating systems.

The prerequisites this time includes an app as well as a stable internet connection. You can use any WiFi FTP app but we suggest sticking to Google Play Store when searching for one. Once that’s done, follow these steps:

  1. On your Samsung device, launch the app for the WiFi FTP.
  2. You might be asked for permission, which you should press Allow
  3. To start, input the Server URL, ID, and Password of the server that you’d want to use on the FTP client.
  4. Still on our device, navigate to your DCIM folder then select the photos that you want to share. It will automatically be shared to people that have access to that server.
  5. Now with your PC, go to the server that you’ve created then download the photos that you just recently shared.

There aren’t many reliable servers out there. Thus, we suggest that you stick to the server that you usually use. Either way, this is very beneficial for people that already have internet connections, but it can be considered old school. Speaking of which, we have yet another method that uses internet connection, but is very suitable for users nowadays.

6. How to Transfer Photos from Samsung to PC with Cloud

Cloud storage makes use of servers, just like with FTP. However, it is more modern with a higher size limit and better performance than FTP servers.

Additionally, it doesn’t require you to have an app on your Samsung device. If so, it will be a default app such as Google Drive or Google Photos.

The only requirement for this method on how to transfer photos from Samsung to PC is a stable internet connection and an account on one of the apps that has a Cloud server. Without further ado, here’s how you can use this method:

  1. On your Samsung device, open your Gallery
  2. Now select the photos that you want to transfer to your PC.
  3. Once selection is complete, tap on Sharethen select the option for Save to Drive.
  4. Select the account that you would like to use, then navigate to the server where you would want to save the files.
  5. Finally, tap on Save.
  6. Next, on your PC, head to the Google Drive website then login using the account you used on your Samsung account.
  7. Head to the folder where you saved the photos earlier.
  8. Once you find the photos, right-click on them then select Download.

This will take a while, but it’s a very convenient method for how to transfer photos from Samsung to PC since you can do it anytime you want, as long as you’ve fulfilled the prerequisites. That concludes our list of six methods for transferring photos from Samsung to PC.
