“I recently got the new iPhone X and I am so excited to start using it, however, I want to get old photos from iCloud that I need to use on my new iPhone. Is this possible to do without reset? Thanks!”
Having a new iPhone is really exciting especially for the initial setup. You would like to have a clean phone with all the apps and photos you only needed. However, if you are using iCloud as your primary backup source then your old photos are stored in the said storage and the only way to get old photos from iCloud is to simply restore from backup. The annoying fact about this process is that it leaves you with no choice at all but to endure possible data loss on the current and existing phone contents. In this article, we will guide you through the different options on how to get old photos from iCloud without the need to reset.

The easiest way to get old photos from iCloud is via iCloud.com from any web browser and devices including the computer. Here are the steps on how to do it:
Step1. Go to iCloud.com using any web browser
Step2. Log in to your iCloud account using the same Apple ID and password. If you have enabled the 2-step authentication then click “Allow” on the device you are using then you will be prompted to enter the 6-digit code.
Step3. Once logged in, click on “Photos”
Step4. Find the photos you needed by clicking Albums, and then All Photos
Step5. Click on the photo and then click the Download button. You may do so for the rest of the pictures. Don’t forget to save them to a new folder on the computer.
Download old photos from iCloud to iPhone or PC devices
There is no “Download All” option as of this moment in iCloud.com. If you would like to download “All photos” to the computer then do the same steps from 1-4 and then hold the SHIFT key on the keyboard while clicking on the very last image in the Album. By doing this, it will select all the photos and a pop-up window will show asking if you want to “Download XXX items?” with the options Download and Cancel, click Download.
The only concern upon using this option is that only the photos synced or stored in iCloud will be available and the iCloud backups are inaccessible.
